What is Private Printing?
Private printing with a PIN is a secure printing method that allows users to send print jobs to a printer and retrieve them later by entering a unique Personal Identification Number (PIN). This system enhances document confidentiality and privacy by preventing unauthorized individuals from accessing sensitive documents left unattended on the printer tray. Users initiate the print job as usual from their device but must enter a PIN code at the printer to release the documents for printing. This extra layer of authentication ensures that only the intended recipient can retrieve the printed materials, adding an additional level of security to the printing process in shared environments such as offices or educational institutions.
